LONGHURST

Size: Building A-1550m², Building B-550m²
Completion: Late 2016
Builder: Westmore Construction Ltd

The project is in the Longhurst Subdivision and houses a variety of facilities such as retail, cafes, beauty service, offices and a gym. The development was to be broken into two separate buildings with one single story and one two story. Both buildings needed to have their own identity but feel like they were part of the same development. All the units on the ground needed to be positioned around the exterior of the building and accessed individually allowing individuality and equal exposure. A simple yet sophisticated material palette was chosen consisting of vertical cedar, black facade panels and feature exposed concrete panels. The panels were cast with an exposed roughsawn board finish with a smooth pattern of native trees recessed into them.
