A large family home was to replace an existing home that had earthquake damage. Due to flooding and planning requirements, the house had to sit in a similar position and of a similar size and be approximately 1.8m out of the ground. The stone and metal cladding frames and anchors the building to provide a solid structural feel to the building while the contrasting timber cladding and glazed links, provide warmth and transparency.
